To embrace its surroundings; To protect and enhance the water quality,
fishery, flora and fauna. To promote the safe and proper use, and the
aesthetic value of Chippewa Flowage. To remember that these waters are
historic and they run through us from those that came before to those that will
inherit what we leave behind.
Thanks so much to Senator Kohl’s
office for hosting a telephone conference with FERC. The one hour meeting was
very imformative. FERC advises us that although the Power Company owns the Dam,
they do not own the water. The water is owned by the People of the United
States.
Lake is frozen, should be a good
recreational winter. Don’t forget ice fishing on the flowage this winter.
Plan a trip and give winter fishing a try.
Welcome back Neal Kephart as Property
Manager at WDNR. Even if its part time, we are happy to see your return.
