ARRANGEMENT TO START ON RESERVOIR DAM
Things are beginning themselves in the preparations that are being made for the preliminary work of actual construction that is to be done in the building of the large reservoir dam at the mouth of the East Fork of the Chippewa River near this village.
Mr. Larson and Mr. Arnold of Eau Claire, of the firm of A. Larson and Company, who have the contract for the construction of the big waterhead, were in the village one day the latter part of last week in company with William Wolf, also of that city, who will have charge of the hauling of supplies.
They returned to their home, but came back Tuesday and are getting things lined up better so that real work can commence immediately. The hauling is to be done from Winter and all headquarters will probably be maintained in our village except those necessary at the scene of work.
L.G. Ullrich and Mr. Rooney of the Wisconsin-Minnesota Light and Power Company arrived on Monday from Eau Claire and have been at the East Fork Camp looking after the interest of that company in connection with the reservoir.
