(Subject: Documentation of Flowage Allotments)
TO: R. C. Craige Superintendent
Indian School
Hayward, Wisconsin
Sir:
CHIPPEWA RESERVOIR:
I am sending you herewith three typewritten copies
of a list of the allotments, which lie wholly, or partially within the
Chippewa Flowage basin which have been acquired by the Wisconsin-Minnesota
Light and Power Company, the Dells Paper and Pulp Company and other persons
than Indians.
The list is entirely accurate as to the allotments
which have been acquired by the Wisconsin-Minnesota Light and Power Company
and the Dells Paper and Pulp Company, but the list of allotments, which
have been acquired by others in based upon an examination of the records
in the office of the Register of Deeds of Sawyer County made several months
ago and show only such transfers as had been made by conveyances recorded
prior to that investigation.
Very truly yours,
Charles McPherson (signed)
