NOTICE OF GENERAL COUNCIL MEETING 1919 April, 22
NOTICE!!!
TO THE INDIANS OF THE LAC COURTE OREILLES RESERVATION
A ‘General Council’ of the adult male Indians of the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation is hereby called to convene at Reserve, Wisconsin on May 6, 1919. The purpose of this council is to discuss and come to some definite understanding, if possible, in the matter of flowage rights on the unallotted tribal lands of the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation, as contemplated by the Act of Congress approved May 18, 1916.
The question of flowage rights on the unallotted tribal land of your reservation is of great interest to each and every member of the tribe and every male adult should make a point to be present at the meeting.
No definite hour has been set for this council for the reason that May 6th is the date that has been set for the Farmers Institute at Reserve and it is impossible to tell at time what hour this question will be taken up; however; I trust that all of you will come early and stay late, as I am quite confident that the entire day will be filled with many subjects of interest to you.
Sincerely yours,
(Signed)
